My Favorite Websites for Freebies – Free Fonts and SVGs/Designs

Happy New Year! I wanted to start 2021 sharing some of my favorite spots for legal freebies (fonts and SVGs) with those of you who are new to owning a Cricut or Silhouette machine or those that have owned one for years. Most of the sites that offer high quality freebies from well-known designers will only offer the free font or SVG for a limited time. The two fonts I used in the above image were freebies in 2020 so you can get some amazing fonts (and SVGs) if you keep checking the websites I share!

For those that are new, getting freebies is a great way to get comfortable with your cutting machine without breaking the bank. You have already invested in your machine (or were lucky enough to get one for Christmas, Hanukkah, your birthday, etc) and will be buying vinyl, weeding tools, etc, so I recommend first trying out with some free fonts and designs if you’re worried about further investment all at the start. You can use the fonts or SVGs to make signs, shirts, mugs/cups, and so many other items!

For those who have had your machines for awhile, freebies are still great! I have had my machine for a couple years and design my own SVGs, but I still love getting other designers’ SVGs as they have a different style from me. I also love continuously adding to my font collection. Don’t get me wrong, I also purchase fonts and SVGS regularly, but there are a lot of ways to get free fonts and SVGs that are legal and even come with a commercial license.

So let’s get to the good stuff!

So Fontsy

So Fontsy offers their font as a permanent freebie and other freebies are available on a temporary basis. Commercial licenses are included, but make sure to read through their commercial license for details. Get their freebies here: https://sofontsy.com/collections/free.

If you have a Silhouette Cameo 3 or 4, they are currently offering a free template available for a skin for your cutting machine. It’s a super fun way to update your machine to match your crafting space and get some practice with cutting and placing vinyl!

I will be honest, I don’t get as much from So Fontsy as the next two spots, but they are a quality company that offers high quality freebies so they are definitely worth checking out!

Design Bundles/Font Bundles

DesignBundles.net and FontBundles.net are separate sites (same company) that offer weekly freebies. Freebies are released Thursday/Friday (sign up for their newsletter to know once the new freebies are released).

DesignBundles.net provides free SVGs, mockups, digital papers, and so much more. A commercial license is included with most (read the fine print to make sure you understand exactly what’s allowed). Get the freebies here (affiliate link): https://designbundles.net/free-design-resources?ref=HU6xkv

Fontbundles.net provides free fonts. A commercial license is included so you can sell items you create using these fonts (you cannot resell the font – read the fine print to get more details on what is allowed and what is not). Get the freebies here (affiliate link): https://fontbundles.net/free-fonts?ref=HU6xkv

I also want to share that Design Bundles has an amazing offer for $1 deals once a month January-October and then one super massive event Black Friday for November/December that has thousands of items for just $1.

The standard $1 deal (January-October) is only for 1 hour of 1 day each month, so it’s a very limited time. But, you can get amazing deals…I’ve purchased multiple font bundles for $1 that offered over 30 fonts! Follow Design Bundles on Facebook and they make an event for each month’s $1 deals. They’ll provide the link (once available) so you can see exactly which items you want to purchase so you can be ready to just buy them once the deal starts! You can also check it out here (affiliate link): https://designbundles.net/one-dollar-deals?ref=HU6xkv

I love their freebies and monthly $1 deal! They also have competitive pricing for fonts, SVGs, etc to purchase, so I buy a lot of items here too!

Creative Fabrica

My favorite spot for freebies is Creative Fabrica. Each day they offer 3 daily gifts – 1 item for each of the 3 categories: font, graphic, and craft. Each day the freebie refreshes so I check this website daily for a font, SVG, etc that fits my needs. Check out the daily gifts here (affiliate link): https://www.creativefabrica.com/daily-gifts/ref/303005/

They also offer a lot of other freebies, but these seem to be newer, less popular designs, fonts, etc. The daily gifts are where I get most of my freebies, but you can still find some good stuff here (affiliate link): https://www.creativefabrica.com/freebies/ref/303005/

They also offer $1 deals. Each week there are 24 items available for $1 so it’s a great way to get popular and seasonal fonts/crafts for just $1. Check out the $1 deals here (affiliate link): https://www.creativefabrica.com/discount-deals/ref/303005/

There are a lot of other places to get freebies, but these are my favorites as they all offer commercial licenses. Even if you are just creating items for yourself, I find that these websites offer freebies from well-known designers so you know you are getting a high quality product…and if you change your mind later and decide to sell some of the products you make, then you’ll know you have a commercial license.

I hope these become some of your favorite spots for freebies (and for purchasing too)! If you have any questions, I’d be happy to help in any way I can. You can email me at cozybunnydesigns@gmail.com.
